The route to more inclusive education

Commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Hutspot and Visuele Verbinders collaborated to facilitate designing a new vision as well as a roadmap to get there for more inclusive education. Find out below what the process was and view the results.

The road towards more inclusive education

In short: in Holland we are moving a way from an individual child approach, towards a system in which we organize education around an entire class. In a more inclusive matter, where have a diversity of different kids, even if a child needs some form of extra support.

Process involving people from within the system

To establish a vision for 2035 for more inclusive education, we facilitated four large conferences and multiple meetings with involved parties, from different areas of the field of education..

In the first conference input for the new vision of more inclusive education in 2035 was gathered. The findings are summarized into an overall illustration:

In three conferences the activities - that are needed to realized the new vision - on a national, regional and school level were discussed and mapped. By inviting a wide variety of contributors from within the field of Education we were able to get insights from different perspectives. During the sessions business drawers were present to live visualize all the input from the sessions.

Partnership

Visuele Verbinders and Hutspot worked side by side in 2022 together with the team of the Ministry of Education. Together they designed, organized and facilitated the conferences, as well as processed the findings and results.

Visual results

The results of these conversations were processed in the vision and roadmap. Both illustrations are made interactive in one overall online environment, in which the viewer can instinctively view all the content.
